1. Control Box

Only works with RTK module.

Price range: $407.3 through $756.4 + VAT

SKU N/A Category

Description

The bridge between the software running on the tablet and the tractor. With the RTK module (that can be purchased seperately), centimetre-precise positioning with tilt compensation 10 times per second can be achieved. With the IMU, also responsible for tilt compensation, the slightest twist/slip of the tractor can be detected and corrected instantly.

Communicates with the tablet via ethernet cable.

In addition, convenience switches, sensors and other peripherals can be connected via this interface.

A program running on the tractor calculates the desired steering axis angle 10 times per second and monitors 20 times per second in attempt of adjusting it.

The front wheel (or the waist joint) can be moved in the following ways:

  • DC motor with gears or by friction drive
  • Keya with a brain motor
  • Factory and/or aftermarket solenoid steering hydraulics control block
  • Danfoss PVES control block (usually factory fitted in JD)

For the safety release, one of the following solutions can be used:

  • measuring the engine overload
    • for DC motor with 20A current meter
    • for Keya motor from the current consumption message on the CAN bus
  • for hydraulics
    • by setting the number of changes if
      • equipped with encoder / pulse transmitter
      • equipped with pressure switch
    • by selecting the % cut-off pressure
      • for pressure sensors 0-5 V and 4-20 mA
      • for analog type encoders

With differential input for compatibility with factory angle sensor. With 5V short-circuit protected output for own angle sensor.

Can be used with a maximum fuse of 10A.

RTK module with antenna

Equipped with feet (spike line), configured for AgOpenGPS. With 15 cm diameter galvanized antenna backing plate, which is highly recommended for good quality reception.
If ordered along with a control box, we will install it in the box and test it together.

In case of usage as a line guide or measuring stick, we also add a box and USB cable.

A proven product from Unicore. Includes the three band UM982 RTK GPS module and the antenna for centimetre-precise positioning and navigation.

Adapters for different tractors

To ensure you select the correct adapter, the most reliable method is to remove the steering wheel and measure the diameter of the splined shaft, as shown in the image.

In most cases, the spline count is 36; therefore, the diameter is the determining factor. Based on our experience, dimensions are consistent across certain brands.

When do I need a 4G router?

Add an external 4G router to your kit if:

  • Tablet has no LTE modem: Your tablet lacks a built-in SIM slot, and you don’t want to rely on your phone’s mobile hotspot.
  • Weak signal coverage: The external antennas provide a stable internet connection in remote fields where standard mobile phones often lose reception.
  • Section controller setup: You are using an extra control board for automatic section control or sprayer management. This setup utilizes the router’s Ethernet hub function, where a third Ethernet cable is connected directly to the SC to ensure seamless communication between the devices.
